The Challenge: A Venue Without a Clear Identity

This iconic Hudson Valley venue has been a gathering place for countless memories since the 1970s. Yet despite its rich history, the venue lacked a cohesive brand identity beyond a simple logo. Known primarily as a space for shows and events, it was often seen as a backdrop rather than a destination.

To appeal to a wide variety of audiences, the venue’s marketing strategy involved changing its graphics and messaging for every event it hosted. On paper, this approach made sense—each event targeted a unique audience. But in practice, this created confusion and inconsistency. The community didn’t associate the venue with any specific identity or value, making it difficult to build trust or recognition.

This lack of cohesive branding led to several challenges:
  • Limited Brand Trust: The community saw the venue as interchangeable with the events it hosted. Without a distinct identity, there was no loyalty or emotional connection to the space itself.
  • Negative Associations: If attendees had a bad experience at an event, even if it wasn’t the venue’s fault, the lack of positive brand equity meant the dissatisfaction extended to the venue itself.
  • Missed Opportunities: Without a strong, recognizable brand, the venue struggled to position itself as the cultural hub it was meant to be.


The Solution: Building a Brand That Resonates with the Community

When the venue partnered with Pané Marketing, the goal was clear: create a recognizable, trustworthy brand that the community could connect with and celebrate. Pané Marketing developed a cohesive brand identity and strategy that could be consistently applied across all marketing channels, transforming the venue from “just a space” into a destination worth seeking out.

We positioned it as a place “by the community, for the community,” showcasing how it enriches the region culturally and economically. This reframed the venue as a legacy-building organization that the community could take pride in supporting.
  • Diverse Experiences:  To show that the venue is more than a place for performances, we promoted its broad range of offerings. From concerts to cultural events to community gatherings, we highlighted the venue’s ability to connect people across generations and interests, positioning it as a vibrant cultural hub.


The Results: A Shift in Perception and Recognition

Brand transformation takes time, but the impact of a consistent branding strategy is already evident. By maintaining a cohesive visual identity and clear messaging across all marketing channels, the venue is beginning to rebuild trust and deepen its connection with the community.

  • A Record Breaking Attendance Number: After working together for 8 months with consistent brand presence and strategic social media marketing efforts, The MJN Center closed out 2024 by hitting an all-time high with an annual attendance record of 100,000+ 
  • Increased Trust Through Consistency: The venue’s commitment to consistent branding—across event promotions, social media, and community outreach—has created a more professional, recognizable identity. This is fostering trust and helping the community view the venue as an integral part of the Hudson Valley experience.
  • Enhanced Community Engagement: By presenting a unified message, the venue is inviting the community to connect not just with individual events, but with the space itself. We’re seeing early signs of increased appreciation for the venue’s efforts to position itself as a cultural hub.

With the refreshed brand identity, we created a cohesive look and feel that tied everything together—even for events that weren’t explicitly venue-branded. From event promos to community updates, every asset now feels unmistakably “MJN.”

This consistency not only makes the venue instantly recognizable but also builds familiarity and connection with every interaction.


With the new brand guidelines in place, creating cohesive content for different platforms is easier and more effective than ever. The MJN Center can now leverage each platform’s native features—like Instagram Stories or event graphics for Facebook—while still ensuring every piece of content feels like part of the MJN experience.

This consistency builds trust and recognition, no matter where the audience engages with the brand.

Watching this transformation take shape has been incredibly rewarding. When I first worked with Dr. Jessica to promote Finding Rhythm’s world premiere at the Kennedy Center in 2022 through social media marketing, it was already clear that the project had the potential to be so much more.
